Initially Arkas had to remove exisiting folding shutters which were not straightforward. The doors had not been in operation for some years and the leading edges were virtually all damaged.
Once successfully removed and disposed of the prepatory work was undertaken. Decreasing the door width by installing a hollow box section and support posts to form a centrally mounted 4000mm wide opening. Posts were bolted to the existing slab and through the head beam.
Additional sheeting rail angles were installed to each side to support the horizontal box profile cladding. All edges and returns were finished with a plastisol pressing to match.
Having our engineers back at the workshop make necessary alterations to all supporting steel previous to the instalation date was key to the smooth and speedy instalation.
The entire project was completed by a two man crew in little over three weeks.
As members of the DSMA all work that Arkas undertake is carried out in accordance with recognised guidelines of the Association.
